SCHOOL ART PROGRAMS - JUNE 7 - 11
Timber Village Museum is hosting Art and Design programs for students of all grades the week of June 7 to 11.
Classes lead by Conrad Bobiwash, Artist/Designer/Teacher, are taking place on the subject of the current exhibition, NORTH STAR MEETS SOUTHERN CROSS at Timber Village Museum. These classes will involve a tour of the exhibition as well as lessons in the image making process and elements of design. Hurry and sign up now, art classes are filling up quickly.
The NORTH STAR MEETS SOUTHERN CROSS exhibition will feature period examples from Norval Morrisseau (The Woodland School of Art in Canada) and Clifford Possum (The Western Desert Art Movement of Australia) leading up to contemporary examples such as Cecil Youngfox, and local artists, James Simon Mishibishijima and Earl Niganobe. Sixteen pieces of visual art will be showcased. A pair will feature a comparison of related art pieces from each continent.
The exhibition was assembled by Conrad Bobiwash, local educator and designer and Peter Los, a former resident now residing in Australia. Both are collectors of Aboriginal people's art.
The exhibition will be ready for viewing on June 7 and will continue until July 22.
Admission to the special art exhibition as well as the museum history galleries is $4/adult, $3/seniors and students; $1/children 6 - 12 (5 and under are free) and FREE TO MEMBERS.
